Rachel and John’s December wedding was our last wedding of the year. I am so glad that I met this lovely couple and I was able to capture their special day! This small intimate family wedding was held at Michael’s at Riverside in Lyndhurst, NJ. Rachel looked beautiful and Riley was cute as a button, especially when she put her mom’s dress and shoes on.
Rachel and John met a few years before them meeting for real. At least that’s how Rachel puts it. The first time Rachel remembers meeting John was when she was hanging out at her cousins out and he was playing foosball with his friends. She saw John and thought he was cute so she texts her friend Amanda asking who that cute guy was over there. She dropped in his DM’s by asking how he was feeling after getting injured during hockey. From then on, they hadn’t stopped talking.
JR says he fell in love with Rachel while they were painting her sister’s room except they had more paint on themselves than on the walls. Rachel says she fell in love with JR when they were in the car and he showed Rachel a song called “The One That Got Away” and he told her that he never wanted it to be Rachel.
How did he propose?
JR proposed to Rachel on a family vacation in Florida. They went on a walk on the beach and got some ice cream. They have a daughter Riley who is the cutest 5-year-old ever. While they were on the beach, he asked her if Riley wanted her Mommy and Daddy to get married again. Of course, she said yes and JR got down on one knee and proposed to Rachel.
To the Lovely Couple!
Thank you so much for choosing me to capture a part of your life story. I am truly honored to have been there. I wish you both all the best with all that you accomplish in life and especially with Riley. Here is to a long and happy life. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Decamp.
